DD National, popularly known as DD1, is an Indian television channel run by the Government of India. The government's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting manages it. The flagship channel of Doordarshan, DD National, commenced on 15 September 1959. This is India's public service broadcaster and also the country's largest television network in terms of viewers.
